In the late afternoon of a summer day in the nation's capital, tragedy struck. On Thursday, July 18, 2024, a Black / African American man named Hassan Kamara Jr., who was 26 years old, was shot and killed in Northeast Washington, D.C. The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. in the 2000 block of Bryant Street, Northeast. Members of the Fifth District of the Metropolitan Police Department responded to reports of a shooting and discovered Kamara suffering from gunshot wounds.
