On Thursday, January 18, 2024, at approximately 6:00 pm, a homicide occurred in the 4000 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast, in Washington, D.C. The victim, identified as 66-year-old Sherman Bunch, was found shot inside a vehicle.

When members of the Metropolitan Police Department's Sixth District responded to the report of a shooting, they located Mr. Bunch with gunshot wound injuries inside the vehicle. Despite the immediate response, he died at the scene.
