In the late hours of a Saturday night in the nation's capital, a life was tragically cut short. Nicolas Hawkins, a 29-year-old man from Greenbelt, Maryland, was in the 600 block of O Street, Northwest on March 13, 2021. It was there, at approximately 10:43 p.m., that the sounds of gunshots pierced the night, drawing the attention of the Metropolitan Police Department's Third District.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered Hawkins on the sidewalk, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
