In the early morning hours of Easter Sunday, a tragic event unfolded inside a residential building in the Navy Yard neighborhood of Washington, D.C., abruptly ending the life of 44-year-old Michael James Quander Jr. On March 31, 2024, at approximately 3:03 a.m., the sound of gunshots echoed through the normally quiet 1100 block of 2nd Place, Southeast, prompting a response from the Metropolitan Police Department.
