In the spring of 2024, a burst of gunfire shattered the evening calm in a Northwest D.C. neighborhood, leaving a young man's life tragically cut short. On the night of Wednesday, April 10th, police responded to reports of a shooting at the intersection of 10th Street and Spring Road. The incident was one of several multiple-victim shootings to plague the city that week.
Responding officers discovered a chaotic scene. One man was found at the location with gunshot wounds.
He was conscious and breathing and was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A short time later, a second victim, 19-year-old Gee Chisley of Temple Hills, Maryland, arrived at an area hospital, also suffering from gunshot wounds sustained in the same incident. Despite medical efforts, the young man, a male, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Branch is actively investigating the double shooting that resulted in Chisley's death. As of the initial reports, authorities had not released any information about potential suspects or a motive for the shooting. Detectives are continuing to piece together the events of that fatal night and are seeking assistance from the public for any information that could lead to an arrest in the case.
