In the early evening of Saturday, April 11, 2026, a burst of gunfire shattered the peace in the 3500 block of 22nd Street, Southeast, Washington, D.C., leaving a young man dead and two others wounded. The deceased was identified as 18-year-old Dereon Womack of Northeast, D.C. The incident, which is now the subject of a homicide investigation, unfolded at approximately 6:29 p.m.
