On a Monday morning in Southeast Washington, the life of 24-year-old Deandre Hawkins was tragically cut short. On April 22, 2019, at approximately 10:49 a.m., police responded to a report of a shooting in the 5300 block of E Street, a residential area in Marshall Heights. Upon arrival, they discovered Hawkins suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency services transported him to a local hospital, but his injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead.
