In the early moments of a Thursday morning, the life of 27-year-old Eric Cooper, a Black male, was tragically cut short in Washington, D.C. Just after midnight on October 28, 2021, the sound of gunfire pierced the air in the 600 block of Edgewood Street, Northeast. When officers from the Metropolitan Police Department's Fifth District arrived at the scene, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.
