A quiet morning in Northeast D.C. was shattered by violence when Herbert Jones, a 51-year-old man, was found shot to death. On Monday, September 2, 2024, at approximately 6:42 a.m., police responded to a call about a man down in the 5100 block of Sheriff Road, Northeast. Upon arrival, they discovered Jones unconscious and suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
