On November 8, 2024, at approximately 6:56 a.m., the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) responded to a report of human remains in the 2600 block of Dunbar Road, Southeast Washington, D.C. Upon arrival, officers discovered the body of 18-year-old Alexander Pavon-Rios of Northwest D.C. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner later determined that Pavon-Rios had died from gunshot wounds, ruling his death a homicide.
