Anthony "AJ" Thurston Jr., a 15-year-old from the Palm Beach Gardens area, was tragically killed in a shooting incident on June 26, 2024. The incident occurred at a Wawa convenience store located in Riviera Beach, Florida, at the intersection of Blue Heron Boulevard and Garden Road.

The shooting resulted in the death of AJ Thurston Jr. and also left his 17-year-old assailant injured. The perpetrator, who is also a minor, was involved in the fatal altercation that led to AJ's death.
