On a late afternoon in Bridgeport, Connecticut, the life of Akeem Corderah Shoucair-Grant, a 37-year-old Black / African American male, was brought to a sudden and violent end. The date was September 11, 2024, when gunfire erupted on Spring Street just before 6 p.m. The city's ShotSpotter system registered the numerous gunshots, and police arrived to find Shoucair-Grant in the street with multiple gunshot wounds.
