On September 13, 2024, a fatal shooting occurred in Hartford, Connecticut, resulting in the death of 56-year-old Yakpoaro Kollie. The incident took place on Capitol Avenue in the evening, with police responding to multiple 911 calls reporting a shooting around 7:30 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers found Yakpoaro Kollie unresponsive in the roadway with a gunshot wound. Despite immediate medical attention, Kollie was pronounced dead at the scene.
