In the late spring of 2023, the life of James Edward Moore, a 30-year-old Black male from Little Rock, Arkansas, was tragically cut short. On the evening of Saturday, May 27th, events transpired at the intersection of 11th and Thayer Streets that would lead to his death. The following day, his body was discovered in a wooded area near the 2600 block of West 12th Street, prompting the Little Rock Police Department to launch a homicide investigation.
The investigation into the death of
James, who was known to friends and family as 'JJ,' quickly began to unfold. Authorities determined that he had sustained fatal gunshot wounds. An autopsy conducted by the Arkansas State Crime Lab confirmed that his death was a homicide, intensifying the search for those responsible for the violent act. Friends and family remembered JJ as an energetic and comedic individual, the life of the party, who had a talent for lifting people's spirits.
Within a week of the discovery of Moore's body, the investigation led to significant breakthroughs. On June 2, 2023, police arrested 20-year-old Omarion Taylor, charging him with capital murder in connection with the death. The case saw further development a few days later when, on June 6, 2023, a second suspect was taken into custody. Kristopher Foster, 28 years old, was also arrested and faced the charge of capital murder for his alleged involvement in the killing of James Edward Moore.
