In the early hours of a Sunday morning, the quiet of a Little Rock neighborhood was shattered by the discovery of a tragic scene. On December 3, 2023, just after midnight, police officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 1600 block of West 22nd Street. Upon their arrival, they found two young black males who had succumbed to gunshot wounds. One of the victims was identified as 13-year-old Deonta Gurley.
