Murdered

On February 13, 1991, 33-year-old Patrolman David E. Barnett of the Little Rock Police Department was fatally shot while attempting to thwart an armed robbery at a Waffle House restaurant. Barnett, who was off duty and in civilian attire at the time, confronted one of the assailants, leading to a struggle. During this altercation, a second suspect shot Barnett, resulting in his death.
