In the late hours of a Thursday night in Little Rock, Arkansas, the life of 17-year-old Marquette Muhammad was tragically cut short. On December 14, 2023, just before 11:30 p.m., police responded to a call of a shooting at an apartment complex located at 7700 N. Chicot Rd. Upon their arrival, officers discovered the young male suffering from gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical services were dispatched to the scene and quickly transported Muhammad to a local hospital.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after his arrival. The Little Rock Police Department's Homicide Detectives were notified and began their investigation at the scene, which was secured by patrol officers.
As detectives began to piece together the events of that night, they canvassed the area for any potential witnesses and searched for video surveillance that might have captured the incident. Through the course of their preliminary investigation, a suspect was identified. Authorities named 17-year-old Ricky Minor as the individual connected to the fatal shooting. The investigation into the death of Marquette Muhammad remains ongoing.
