In the early morning hours of February 15, 2023, the life of 27-year-old Hispanic male, Jorge Maldonado-Vasquez, was tragically cut short in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Just before 5:00 a.m., police were dispatched to an apartment in the 2100 block of Buckingham Drive NW following reports of gunshots. Upon their arrival, they discovered Maldonado-Vasquez suffering from gunshot wounds.
