On February 22, 2014, a tragic incident occurred in southwest Cedar Rapids, Iowa, resulting in the deaths of 54-year-old Dennis Lee Koopman and his 52-year-old estranged wife, LuElla Koopman. The incident was identified as a murder-suicide by the Cedar Rapids police.
