Ty John Casey, a 39-year-old resident of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, lost his life to gun violence on May 13, 2022. Born on January 20, 1983, in South Korea, Ty was initially given the name Tae Min and was found alone and assumed abandoned in Pusan City at the age of three. He spent time in orphanages until he was adopted through Holt International Adoptions and arrived at the Des Moines Airport on February 13, 1988, to meet his new family.
