On August 14, 2014, Michelle Cusseaux, a 50-year-old woman from Phoenix, Arizona, was fatally shot by Phoenix police Sergeant Percy Dupra. The incident occurred when police were called to her apartment to serve a court-ordered mental health pickup. Cusseaux had been experiencing mental health issues and was supposed to be taken to a mental health facility.
