On February 11, 2019, Parker Ray Lynch, a 25-year-old man from Thatcher, Arizona, died after being shot while testing a ballistic vest. The incident occurred in a desert area near the Gila River, just north of the Reay Lane Bridge, where Lynch and two male acquaintances were shooting together.
