In the spring of 2019, the life of 19-year-old Jacob Jesse Pacheco was cut tragically short. On the morning of Thursday, April 11, 2019, Phoenix police were called to the area of 600 W. Siesta Way, near the intersection of 7th Avenue and Dobbins Road, following a report of an injured person. Upon their arrival, they discovered Jacob unresponsive on the ground in a driveway.
It was soon determined that he had been shot, and he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Phoenix Police Department quickly launched a homicide investigation into Jacob's death. His family was notified of the devastating loss. While the police confirmed that Jacob's death was a result of homicide, they did not release many additional details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting. In the days following the discovery of his body, no suspects were publicly identified, and no arrests were made.
The case of Jacob Pacheco's death became one of a number of unsolved homicides in Maricopa County that year. Authorities appealed to the public for any information that might lead to the identification and apprehension of the person or persons responsible for his death.
