In the late hours of February 5, 2024, the city of Phoenix was marked by a violent tragedy that claimed the life of 33-year-old Carlos Cardenas Ome. Just before 10:00 p.m., police responded to reports of a shooting near 76th Avenue and Thomas Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man who had sustained a gunshot wound.
