In the early hours of a Saturday in Phoenix, Arizona, the life of 40-year-old Daniel Perez Jr. was tragically cut short in a violent home invasion. Shortly after midnight on March 18, 2023, police were called to a residence in the area of 18th Avenue and Ocotillo Road following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, officers discovered Perez suffering from gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical services from the Phoenix Fire Department provided treatment at the scene before rushing him to
a local hospital. Despite their efforts, Perez succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. Homicide detectives were called in to take over the investigation into the fatal shooting.
According to the initial findings by investigators, it is believed that an adult male suspect forcibly entered the home. The intruder then demanded property from the occupants. During the course of the robbery, the suspect shot Perez before fleeing the scene. At the time of the reports, the suspect remained at large, and authorities were appealing to the public for any information that might lead to an arrest.
