On December 8, 2019, Marlon Cruz Isaguirre, a 33-year-old man from Phoenix, Arizona, was fatally shot in the parking lot of a bar located near the intersection of 83rd Avenue and Indian School Road.

The incident began inside the bar where Isaguirre was involved in a verbal altercation with two Hispanic male suspects and a female.
