On the night of January 17, 2020, in Phoenix, Arizona, a fatal shooting cut short the life of 23-year-old Andrew Dereck Santos, a male of Brazilian descent. Phoenix Police Department officers were dispatched to the vicinity of 24th Avenue and Hazelwood Street at approximately 10:14 p.m. following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Santos in front of a residence, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
