In the pre-dawn hours of a late August morning in Phoenix, Arizona, the life of 26-year-old Nathaniel Maurice Holmes, Jr. was tragically cut short. On Thursday, August 25, 2011, violence erupted at the Canterbury apartment complex situated near 23rd and Campbell avenues, resulting in a triple homicide that also claimed the lives of 35-year-old Carmela Jackson and another man who was not immediately identified.
