Phoenix police responded to calls of gunshots in the area around 4:30 a.m.
and found a vehicle that had sustained damage from gunfire.
Investigators determined that after being shot, Kevin's car collided with a parked vehicle before coming to a stop. The initial belief by law enforcement was that the shooting occurred a few blocks south of where the car was ultimately found. In the immediate aftermath, detectives were actively investigating the case as a homicide but had not released any information about potential suspects or the circumstances that led to the shooting.
