In the pre-dawn hours of August 12, 2024, the quiet of a Phoenix apartment complex was shattered by the sound of a gunshot. When police officers arrived at the scene near 43rd Street and McDowell Road shortly after 1:30 a.m., they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The man was identified as 24-year-old Jacob Sierra, a male resident of Phoenix. First responders rushed him to a nearby hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he died shortly after arrival.
