On December 8, 2023, around 10:15 p.m., a shooting incident occurred at an apartment complex located near 51st Avenue and Thunderbird Road in Phoenix, Arizona, just north of the Arizona State University West campus. Phoenix police officers responded to the scene and found 40-year-old Omari King with at least one gunshot wound. Despite immediate attention, King did not survive his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
