On July 30, 2021, at approximately 3:30 a.m., Joseph Anthony McNally, a 28-year-old resident of Phoenix, Arizona, was fatally shot in an incident that occurred near the former Metrocenter Mall. The shooting took place in the area of 28th Drive, between Peoria Avenue and Cactus Road.
