In the early hours of a Sunday morning in Phoenix, Arizona, a confrontation outside a local bar and grill tragically cut short the life of Jordan James Davis, a 35-year-old man working as a security guard. The events unfolded on July 3, 2022, when Davis denied entry to 34-year-old Daniel Stuart. This refusal escalated into a physical altercation in the bar's parking lot.
The dispute took a fatal turn when Stuart allegedly brandished a firearm and shot Davis.
In the ensuing chaos, another security guard present at the scene reportedly exchanged gunfire with Stuart. When Phoenix police officers arrived at the scene around 1:30 a.m., they discovered Davis in the parking lot with a gunshot wound. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal.
The suspected shooter, Daniel Stuart, fled the scene on foot after the incident. However, he had also sustained multiple gunshot wounds during the exchange. Stuart later sought treatment at a hospital, where he too succumbed to his injuries and died. The second security guard who was involved in the shooting was detained by police and has been cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
