In the winter of 2020, family members grew concerned after not hearing from 32-year-old Lauren Porter and her fiancé, 41-year-old Joseph Caba, for some time. This concern prompted a welfare check at the couple's northwest Phoenix home, located near 43rd Avenue and Cactus Road. On the afternoon of Wednesday, February 19, 2020, police were dispatched to the residence to investigate.
