In the late evening hours of Sunday, August 30, 2020, a tragedy unfolded on Tucson's South Side that cut short the life of a young man. Rudy R. Romero, a 20-year-old male, was fatally shot at an apartment complex located at 1951 E. Benson Highway. The incident prompted a swift response from the Tucson Police Department, with officers being dispatched to the scene just after 10:00 p.m. following reports of a shooting.
