In a tragic turn of events on April 4, 2019, eight-year-old Jorden Webb and his twin brother, Jaden, were found deceased in their Tucson, Arizona home. The boys, who were White/Caucasian, had been fatally shot. Responding to a call for medical assistance, paramedics discovered the boys in separate bedrooms. They also found their grandmother and legal guardian, 55-year-old Dorothy Flood, unresponsive at the scene, suffering from an apparent overdose.
The Pima County Sheriff's Department
quickly identified Dorothy Flood as the suspect in the double homicide. She had become the legal guardian of Jorden and his brother after their mother's death in 2017. Friends of Flood indicated that she had expressed feeling overwhelmed and fearful about her ability to care for the boys, who were both on the autism spectrum. Despite these fears, she was also described as a loving grandmother who gave her 'whole heart' to the twins.
Following her hospitalization for the overdose, Dorothy Flood was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder. She later pleaded guilty to two counts of manslaughter. As a result of her plea, she was sentenced to 21 years in prison for the deaths of her grandsons.
