On a Friday afternoon in Tucson, Arizona, the life of 17-year-old Haron Mendivil Arballo was tragically cut short by gun violence. The fatal incident unfolded on November 18, 2022, at Rudy Garcia Park, where a dispute escalated into a deadly shooting, leaving two young men dead and another wounded.
Responding to reports of the shooting at approximately 4 p.m., Tucson police officers arrived at the park to find 20-year-old Jorge Santini Baragan with gunshot wounds.
Despite their life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Haron, along with another individual, had already been transported from the park to Banner University Medical Center, South Campus, in a private vehicle. Haron ultimately succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
The investigation into the double homicide led Tucson Police to identify two suspects. Roman Salazar-Solis was arrested in connection with the shooting. Further investigation led to the identification and subsequent arrest of a second suspect, Luis Mario Tello-Fierros, on December 1, 2022.
Both Roman Salazar-Solis and Luis Mario Tello-Fierros were charged with two counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of Haron Mendivil Arballo and Jorge Santini Baragan. They were being held in the Pima County Jail, each on a $1,000,000 bond.
