In the early morning hours of April 16, 2024, the life of 20-year-old Marissa Marie Victoria Jones Anderson was tragically cut short. A vibrant and artistic soul, Marissa was a female Caucasian and a resident of Tucson, Arizona, known for her love of painting, drawing, and collecting beautiful things. She was married for two years to her husband, Beau Henderson, with whom she dreamed of starting a family.
The incident occurred just before 2 a.m.
at a gathering in a vacant house in the 300 block of North Indian House Road. Tucson Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting and found Marissa deceased at the scene from a gunshot wound.
Detectives began an investigation into the shooting, interviewing multiple witnesses who were present at the house party. Through their investigation, they identified 18-year-old Josiah Williamking Walker as a suspect. Walker was located and apprehended at his home. He was subsequently arrested and booked into the Pima County Jail, initially charged with manslaughter.
Further court proceedings revealed that Walker had been drinking at the party and was pointing a shotgun at people before he shot Marissa in the head. Walker later pleaded guilty to negligent homicide. In September 2025, a judge sentenced him to six years in prison for his role in Marissa's death, with credit for 511 days already served.
