On a cold Saturday evening in Omaha, Nebraska, the life of William Harnage, a 21-year-old Black man, was tragically cut short. On November 27, 2021, at approximately 7:30 p.m., a burst of gunfire shattered the quiet of the residential block near 34th and Jackson Streets. When police arrived, summoned by 911 calls, they discovered a grim scene in front of a residence. Harnage and another young man, 18-year-old Jang Puol, were found with gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene.
