On the night of November 30, 2022, Synthia Jean Taelynn Elliott, a 15-year-old Black female, was sleeping inside her Omaha, Nebraska, home when her life was tragically cut short. A hail of bullets, at least 20 shots, tore through the residence near 37th and Pinkney Streets. One of these bullets struck Synthia in the head, and she succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The senseless act of violence left a community in shock and a family devastated by the loss of a vibrant young life.
