On August 6, 2015, 23-year-old Deprecia Neelon was shot and killed outside her home on Pinkney Street in Omaha, Nebraska. The tragic event occurred shortly after a fire was intentionally set at the residence. Neelon went outside to investigate the fire when she was shot multiple times. Her stepfather, who was at home during the incident, attempted to help her but was forced to retreat when the shooter aimed at him as well.
