On January 30, 2009, Shamime J. Albert, a 17‑year‑old Black male from Wilmington, Delaware, was fatally shot and found in the street at the corner of 27th and Claymont Streets. The time of discovery was approximately 12:40 p.m., and details indicate he had been killed by gunfire.
