On July 4, 2024, at approximately 1:07 a.m., Wilmington Police responded to reports of gunfire in the 900 block of North Lombard Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered 49-year-old Kevin D. Harris Jr. suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite immediate medical attention, Harris was pronounced dead at the scene.
