In the early morning hours of November 9, 2017, a Black or African American 18-year-old male named Justin McDermott was fatally shot in Wilmington, Delaware. The incident occurred just after 12:13 a.m. in the 500 block of South Franklin Street. When police arrived at the scene, they discovered McDermott suffering from gunshot wounds. He was quickly transported to Christiana Hospital, but tragically, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
