On September 23, 2015, at around 3:00 p.m., Jeremy McDole, a 28-year-old African American paraplegic, was shot and killed by police in Wilmington, Delaware. The incident began when police responded to a 911 call reporting a man in a wheelchair who had suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was still armed with a handgun.
