Death by Force

On the evening of June 27, 2017, a 21-year-old African American man named Dequan T. “Day Day” Dukes was fatally shot in Dover, Delaware. He was seated inside a vehicle between buildings D and E at Pine Grove Apartments when police responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 8:48 p.m. Dukes had suffered at least one gunshot wound to his upper body, was transported to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital, and was pronounced dead there.
