On June 27, 2017, 21-year-old Dequan Dukes of Dover, Delaware, was fatally shot during a double shooting at the Pine Grove Apartments. The incident unfolded around 8:48 PM, when Dukes was found inside a vehicle with gunshot wounds to his upper body. Despite being rushed to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital, he tragically succumbed to his injuries. A second victim, a 25-year-old man, was also wounded in the shooting and received medical attention at the hospital.
