On the early morning of May 24, 2018, in Wilmington, Delaware, 30‑year‑old female Isabel Cooper, a woman of color, lay lifeless inside a car that had reportedly crashed near the intersection of Kiamensi Road and Rothwell Drive. Police had been called to the scene around 2:00 a.m. by someone reporting a single‑car collision.
