On the morning of April 29, 2023, Delaware State Police responded to a residence in the 1800 block of Veale Road in Wilmington after receiving an open-line 911 call. Upon arrival, troopers entered through an unsecured side door and discovered an 87-year-old man and an 86-year-old woman deceased in their beds from apparent gunshot wounds. A handgun was found in the possession of the male.
