On the evening of August 2, 2023, Wilmington police responded to reports of gunfire near 10th and Bennett Streets around 10:40 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered 35-year-old Katelyn Mae Nance suffering from gunshot wounds. She was promptly transported to Christiana Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
