Katelyn Mae Nance, a White/Caucasian female, age 35, was shot on the night of August 2, 2023, on Wilmington’s East Side, near 10th and Bennett Streets. Officers responded to reports of gunfire around 10:40 p.m. and found her suffering from gunshot wounds. She was rushed to Christiana Hospital, where she died of her injuries.
In the days immediately following the shooting, authorities publicly identified her and appealed for information from the community as detectives worked the case.
