On October 12, 2020, 29-year-old Jasmine Maria Lewis, a woman from High Point, NC, tragically lost her life in a shooting incident. The incident occurred around 6:10 p.m. near the intersection of University Parkway and East Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Police responded to reports of shots fired and found a vehicle that had been shot multiple times. Jasmine Maria Lewis, who was in the car, was transported to a hospital but succumbed to her injuries.
